As the spring season quickly approaches, I thought it would be fitting to talk about my Cherry Blossom experience in Washington D.C. last year. My organization in undergrad flew to D.C. to participate in a conference, we had no idea it was going to be planned during cherry blossom season. Cherry blossoms bloom every spring and attract thousands of tourists from all over the world that want to take in their beauty. While we were there, I noticed that there were two types of trees. Some cherry blossoms would bloom light pink and others would bloom bright pink; both beautiful nonetheless. The light pink blossoms were more concentrated around the National Mall and the Tidal Basin. We found the bright pink ones as we walked toward the White House and the Air and Space Museum. Pictures don’t do these trees justice! They are so breathtaking in person! Here are a few pictures I captured while I was there!

Washington D.C. will forever hold a special place in my heart! I definitely need to go back and visit. Keep an eye out for more posts about D.C. in the future!
